We would like to know if “A Special Place” is now fully operational? We are currently in search for an in house prevoc training for our son.
Dear Whelma,
We are still in development. We have a launch on Feb 20, 6-8 p.m. at the Filipinas Heritage Library.
Where are you located? There are some prevoc places in Manila that we can refer you to.
Regards,
Lirio Sobrevinas Covey

Hi Lirio,
Interim while A Special Place is still in the making, I suggest we recommend Shine Special School where Vico is currently enrolled, they offer pre-vocational courses such as computer graphics, offce works and resto./ bar services. Address is 88 East Capitol Drive , Kapitolyo, Pasig City; tel. no. 477-5717 0r 5714.
I.L.L.C. is another option.

Dear Lirio,
I am looking for a boarding school/institution to put my 12-year-old autistic son, as I am already overwhelmed at taking care of him. He is currently enrolled in a day school (Anima Christi Center) here in Alabang, but since he has been throwing tantrums(shouting mostly) on the days he arrives late for his classes, his teachers has been complaining. I guess his behaviour disrupts his classmates. In lieu of A Special Place (looking forward to its completion though), can you suggest a boarding school for him? He is enrolled in Grade 4 now.
Thank you so much.

Hi, Good Day! I have a brother who is diagnosed with Mild Autism spectrum disorder nong bata pa sya, after that hindi na po sya na-assess ulit or napacheck up pa due to financial issues. And now, we wanted na mapacheck up ulit sya kasi napapansin namin na may mga tics na sya, and madalas sya napapagalitan ng parents namin dahil hindi nila maintindihan ang case ng brother ko. I just want to ask if there are hospital or doctor na pwede nyo mairecommend para sa case ng brother ko for assessment and consultation? He is now 30years old. Thank you
can you please enlighten me about gluten-free casein free diet. I have a son 20 year old son diagnosed with severe autism. He went to a special school who catered behavioral management for children with autism when he was age 4-9. But due to financial constraints we were not able to send him to school anymore. Can you please refer to us a Psychiatrist/Neourologist where we can bring Mikko for consultation regarding his epilepsy and unwanted behavior. Thank you and may God bless you..
Hello alma. GFCF is gluten and casein-free. Proteins found in oats, wheat, barley, etc., and milk and dairy products. It is quite easy to follow in the Philippines since our diet is rice-based. The hard part is weaning your child off the regular diet. No bread, milk, non-GFCF ice cream, cookies, cakes, junk food, definitely no McDo, Jollibee, etc. I did it when my son was only 4yo so I was fully in control. I was stronger then so I wore him down. You know how strong they are. 🙂 At the start he refused of course, tantrums, screaming, crying and all, but I stood my ground. He didn’t eat for maybe almost 2 days but finally hunger and I won. He’s been on GFCF for more than 7 years now. You can start with our very now tinolang manok/baboy w papaya and malunggay, kansi, our usual soups! Eggs and rice for breakfast. Spareribs, pork chops, chicken for any meal of the day. Just spice w salt, pepper, kalamansi. Grilled or fried or soup. Definitely no noodles/spaghetti as they have wheat, unless rice noodles. Avoid sugars; makes them hyper. Rice becomes sugar – fyi lang. Go slow. He is 20yo. Not so easy to hold down. What does he usually eat?
Hello AAAP.. i am so glad i found your website. I would like to know if AAAP is already functional. I don’t have a family member with autism but I am working to a family with autistic son. I would like to know if you are conducting seminars or trainings for the parents and the carer. I wish also to visit “A Special Place”.
Good morning. Do you offer diagnosing service for adults with suspected autism? I would like to be diagnosed, as I have suspected symptoms of autism. I was a former nurse who cannot understand verbal and nonverbal communication and I was forced to resign because my work is not suitable for me. I cannot understand social communication too and i usually make other people have burnout, especially my mother. I have few friends and an only short-term relationship which only lasted for 5 months and never had any other romances for 5 years. I don’t have empathy. Please help. Thank you.
Have you seen a Dr yet?
Hi! Sorry for the late reply. I’m sorry but I’m not a psychiatrist who offers diagnosis. I’m a nurse from the Philippines where we can’t practice diagnosing patients. I only write to reach out to all. But I do hope that you’ll be enlightened by reading my blog. Thank you for passing through my blog.

I’m glad I saw your article via fb. Me and my husband is struggling to find a place where we can get guidance for our son. Will you please help us.
HI maam i work as caregiver i had almost 9 yrs of experience handling children with special needs first and foremost children with autism throw tantrums if they dont get what they want they used it as a way of communication if you tried the ABA way there is a techniques wherein for ex. Your child wants apple instead of giving him the apple just because he cried encourage him to ask for it properly before you give what he like if he tantrums and you gave it just because you want him to stop the next time he will repeat the same behavior because he recognized that he can get what he wants when he miss behave
Hi. I would like to know on how to be part in your society? It is my 41 year old husband whom I suspected of having an Aspie. I am looking for a society like yours so that can help us with his condition. Thank you
Hi Aileen.
Same here I want to be part of this society too. I suspect my husband is an aspie too. And I am in desperate need of someone who I can talk to about it.
I want to know if there’s a psychologist or psychiatrist who can diagnose him.
